How your payment is protected

Once you accept a quote, you pay securely through Stripe. The payment is held. It is not paid to the provider straight away.

When the work is finished, you confirm it in the app. Only then is the payment released to the provider, minus Vorkies commission.

Either you or the provider can raise a dispute from the job. The payment is frozen straight away, so it cannot be released while the dispute is open.

A member of the Vorkies team looks at the dispute and decides the outcome. Both sides are told the result.

While a dispute is open, the provider cannot bid on new jobs until it is resolved.

Refund

The payment is refunded to the customer.

Release

The payment is released to the provider.

No action

The dispute is closed with no change to the payment.

This is a dispute process, not an insurance policy or a guarantee of workmanship.
Each outcome is decided by our team after reviewing the dispute. We cannot promise a particular result.
Currently an outcome refunds or releases the whole payment held for the job. We do not split a payment.
Raise a dispute as soon as there is a problem and before the payment is released. Once a payment has been paid out to a provider, getting it back may not be possible.
